ROCK HILL -- Mrs. Betty Sutton Chapman, 80 , passed away July 4, 2008, at Hospice and Community Care.
Born in Rock Hill, September 9, 1927, to the late Richard Perry and Ruth Mae Stogner Sutton, Mrs. Chapman was a member of Park Ridge Baptist Church, ran the family business B & B Grill, worked in the cafeteria for the school district, was caregiver for Northside Child Development and a preschool teacher and director for over 40 years for White Street Baptist Church and Park Ridge Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Millard (Bish) Chapman.
She is survived by sons, Charles (Rick) Chapman and wife, Glenda, and Millard (Eddie) Chapman and wife, Darlene, all of Rock Hill; daughters, Wanda C. McLurkin of Raleigh, N.C. and Pamela D. Duncan and husband, Mike, of Rock Hill; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sister, June Myers and husband, McKline, of Walterboro, S.C.; and brother, Donald Sutton and wife, Pat, of Rock Hill.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Park Ridge Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Ken Fetuao and followed by interment at Grandview Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bass-Cauthen Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Park Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund, 5099 Trotter Ridge Court, Rock Hill, SC 29730.
