RICHBURG —The Bamberg-Ehrhardt Red Raiders traveled 110 miles to face the Lewisville Lions in a Class A Division I playoff game Friday night. Thanks to Demetrious Williams, along with the Red Raiders’ defense and special teams, the trip home will be a happy one.
RICHBURG — When Steve Taneyhill played quarterback at South Carolina, he famously signed the paw at Clemson’s Death Valley after leading his team to a victory over the Tigers.
BUFORD — In Buford, Lewisville scored the lone touchdown of the second half, but it gave the Lions the cushion they needed to hold off Buford.
RICHBURG — Through a sloppy game full of penalties, fumbles and a dropped touchdown pass, there were two constants for Lewisville: the Johnson brothers. Isaiah and Elijah Johnson made big plays offensively and Lewisville’s defense adjusted to McBee’s wishbone to lead the Lions to a 28-14 win Friday night.
RICHBURG — The collison made everybody in the stadium — and that’s not an exaggeration — gasp, but Nation Ford’s Dee Truesdale still knew three things after a nasty helmet-to-helmet hit.
COLUMBIA — Lewisville picked up its second win of the season, 35-27 over Ben Lippen on Thursday.
RICHBURG — A varsity debut of 238 passing yards with two touchdown passes was indeed an impressive stat line for Chester quarterback Tony McNeal last week in the Cyclones' 33-32 road loss to Union.
RICHBURG — So much for opening-night jitters.
The Herald Jamboree was the third scrimmage of the week for York, but the Cougars showed little sign of fatigue as they crushed Lewisville 20-6 during the third period of the jamboree.
